Surprisingly personal

A few smart questions – no forms, no names, no nonsense. Just what we need to find something worth giving.

Beyond the obvious

Flowers again? You can do better! Think experiences, local surprises, gifts with added value, good deeds. Things they'd never expect that will put a smile on that face.

Refreshingly sensible

No puppies. No speedboats. Nothing you'd regret Monday morning. Thoughtful, responsible, and within reach.

Frequently asked questions

Questions you must be asking yourself

How does this work?
Tell us a few things about the person you're buying for, their world, what makes them light up. We'll come back with ideas worth giving, not just worth wrapping.
Why “Surprise me, silly”?
It's the universal catchphrase of the person who has everything: “Oh, I don't know, just surprise me, silly!”. We took it as a challenge.
Do you collect my personal data?
Not a morsel. No accounts, no emails, no cookies, no tracking pixels. The conversation goes to Anthropic (the makers of Claude) to find the right gifts, and is forgotten the moment it is done. We do count anonymous page views and clicks (via Vercel Analytics, no cookies, no identifiers) to see what's working.
What happens to my chat?
It lives in your browser between the chat and the picks, then quietly vanishes when you close the tab. Nothing to log into, nothing to log out of.
What about the shops I click through to?
The moment you click “buy at...”, you are somewhere else entirely, with someone else's privacy practices. We never see what you buy.
Do you earn a commission?
Some of these links carry a modest commission. Some don't. Curating the perfect gift is an art, done with love. The commission is just to keep the lights on. If you want to contribute more, you can always buy us a coffee ☕.
Are you responsible for the products you suggest?
We can't be responsible for third-party products or services, but we do curate things worth giving. Things we'd like to receive ourselves, or would buy a good friend.
I sell something worth giving, how do I get listed?
We'd love to hear all about it! If it's a good fit, it will be added to our curated list.
